Welcome to middle school dance class! I look forward to sharing a passion of mine with our students and my goal is to help them gain an appreciation and love for the art of dance. Students will explore the elements of dance and structure of choreography through a variety of styles. Dancers will have opportunities for choreography, improvisation, creative problem solving, and performing. Students will learn about dance history, technique, vocabulary, anatomy, injury prevention, famous dancers and choreographers, and dances from various cultures and historical periods. We will also make connections to other content areas and integrate core curriculum into our class.
