Hometown: I’m from the beautiful mountains of western North Carolina!
What do you like best about teaching? The joy that comes from seeing kids think and learn and grow every day.
What is your snack indulgence? There are too many! Chips with Dean’s french onion dip is a favorite…I love banana milkshakes and Doritos. How much room do you have for this answer? J
Who do you admire? My amazing husband. He is the best Dad ever. He is patient and smart and funny.

How long have you been in education? Even when I was a little girl I had a classroom set up in my basement and I taught down there every day. I graduated from WCU (Go Catamounts!) in 1994 and officially began teaching elementary school. In 2000 I graduated from UNCC with my master’s in School Administration and left the classroom to become an assistant principal. After having two kids I became a full time stay at home mom. In the past few years I have worked part time teaching and volunteered a lot at CSD and now I’m thrilled to be teaching again full time. For me there’s no place like the classroom!
What is your favorite movie? Star Wars, Empire Strikes back is my favorite of them all.
What’s your favorite book? Bridge to Terribithia, I still can’t read it without sobbing. I love to read!
What’s your favorite music? ABBA, Toby Mac, U2 are some of my favorite artist. I love 70s disco and show tunes. I’m a huge fan of musicals.
What is your favorite vacation spot? Hilton Head Island & Disney
What do you want others to know about you? I have 2 boys who are my absolute joy and heart! I am a huge fan of the Davidson Wildcats and I love going to basketball games. I believe that teaching is the best job in the world and I’m so happy to be back in the classroom teaching again!

How long have you been in education? I realized I wanted to be a teacher in college. I graduated from PennState University and have been teaching ever since. This will be my 12th year in the classroom.
What is your favorite movie? Old School
What’s your favorite book? The Kissing Hand
What’s your favorite music? Sting, Journey, Van Halen, and several hits from the 70's and 80's.
What is your favorite vacation spot? Hilton Head and anywhere where I am spending fun time with family or friends
